I grew up in the far northwest Chicago suburb of Algonquin, where I often dreamed of far-off places with mountain backdrops and hidden worlds that surely I would discover if I just looked hard enough. Ever since I was six and learned what an author was, I've wanted to become one. I wrote short stories and poetry with abandon throughout my childhood before putting writing aside to focus on my musical studies.

After receiving my Bachelors in Music Education and majoring in musical theatre for two years at The Hartt School, I moved out West in search of my mountain backdrop and fell in love with New Mexico. Life has taken me to California, bounced me around the Midwest, but 15 years later I've wound up right back in the lap of the Sandia Mountains of Albuquerque, New Mexico -- my heart's true home.

Since returning to writing as an adult, my short story "One More" was a finalist in a Writers Digest competition, my microfiction "Lulu" won third place in its category for the first round of the NYC Midnight Microfiction Challenge, and an early draft of the first 100 pages of my completed MG Fantasy, SPARKS IN THE DARK, made the Judges' Favorites List for Ink and Insights.

I look forward to writing many more wild and fantastical things for many years to come!
